MIT Lincoln Laboratory was established in 1951 by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a Federally Funded Research and Development Center, with primary emphasis on application of advanced electronics to national defense. The Laboratory offers an exceptional environment for conducting research, since it has academic roots in a great institution, yet is closely involved with practical problems of national significance. The Laboratory's core work is in the areas of sensors, information extraction, communications, and integrated sensing and decision support. Current mission areas are in air defense technology, communications and information technology, tactical surveillance technology, advanced electronics technology, space control, ballistic missile defense, and biological-chemical defense. In addition to its work for the Department of Defense, the Laboratory has a significant program in air traffic control for the FAA, as well as work for NOAA and NASA. The Laboratory does not build production equipment, however, it does develop and test experimental and prototype systems as well as carry out theoretical studies and laboratory investigations. Work at the Laboratory extends from basic research, through the development of devices and components, to the design, construction, and operation of complex systems. Please visit www.ll.mit.edu for more information about the Laboratory and its research programs. MIT Lincoln Laboratory has career opportunities for theoretical investigation as well as work with experimental systems in the field. Due to the highly complex nature of our work, we have the greatest need for graduate engineers with an MS or a PhD in Electrical Engineering or Physics and for BS or MS-level software engineers and scientific programmers. Due to our contracts with the Department of Defense employment at the Laboratory requires U.S. citizenship. To view examples of typical career opportunities for new graduates, please visit http://lljobs.ll.mit.edu/pljb/MIT_Lincoln_Laboratory/College_Events/applican t/index.jsp We are also recruiting for undergraduates and graduates for our two summer programs for students majoring in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or comparable fields. Each program affords students the unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a leading edge research environment that complements their studies. Please visit http://www.ll.mit.edu/careers/summer.html for the requirements for each program. Abstracts of the 2006-2007 Technical Seminar Series Program booklet can also be viewed at http://www.ll.mit.edu/careers/seminars.html.
