Questions
The proctorin and proctorout commands must be run on the proctor time
clock terminal in 102 WVH. All other commands are available to the
proctors on any CCIS UNIX machine.
- proctorin and proctorout
- These commands make entries into the proctor timeclock database,
which is used to generate the payroll lists for the part time
proctors, and to verify timecards for the work/study proctors.
You must proctorin immediately upon starting a shift, and
proctorout when your shift ends. (Note: If the proctorin terminal
in 102 is not responding, try power-cycling the terminal. Not
the computer on which the terminal rests, just the display
terminal.) Any problems with this system must be reported to
lab-admin immediately.
- preport
- The preport [days] command lists a report form the proctor
timeclock database. The report defaults to 7 days. This report is
used to generate the part time payroll, and is used to verify
work/study timecards. Any errors in the report must be reported
to lab-admin immediately. Use this command to keep track of your
hours, and to fill out work/study timecards.
- proctors
- The UNIX command proctors prints out a list of the current CCIS
proctors and their user names.
- schedule
- The schedule command has several options:
schedule <option>
[ -d ] <days of the week>
[ -h ] <help>
[ -r ] <room number>
[ -u ] <username>
[ -v ] <version number>
- killx
- Kills a user's session on an xlocked computer.
To run, ssh to the target machine and type "sudo /ccs/adm/bin/killx". You will be prompted for your password.
Please ensure that the machine is really xlocked. Enter "y" to kill the user's xsession.
- checkload
Checks the load of all the machines in 102 and shows the highest
3 processes.
/ccs/adm/proctors
The directory /ccs/adm/proctors contains files proctors might find
useful, such as a proctor FAQ, a file of frequently asked
questions. Proctors are encouraged to make additions to these
files. |
