Sales Engineer

  • Provides pre-sales support in proposing and designing monitoring and testing solutions to meet customers' business and technical requirements.
  • Developing and conducting strategic and effective demonstrations, presentations and customer training.
  • Provide technical support to end users, resellers and partners in a timely fashion.
  • Identifying and defining customer requirements, mapping solutions, and creating a vision.
  • Significant worldwide travel to partners, prospects and customers.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a Sales Engineer or Technical Consultant in the Streaming Video or Video On Demand (VOD) industry.
  • Strong customer relationship skills and presence are mandatory requirements.
  • Strong technical knowledge of at least one major operating system environment and of MPEG2 and MPEG1 technical standards.
  • Exceptional corporate presentation, and relationship building skills
  • Highly motivated and self-directed with the ability to work well both independently and as proactive team member
  • Effective writing skills; ability to support the development of technically focused, solutions-oriented sales proposals
  • Systems Administration experience with Solaris and Linux including operating system installation, configuration, tuning, and debugging is a major plus.
  • Excellent follow through skills
  • Bachelor degree in computer science, information systems, or demonstration of equivalent knowledge.


Technical Customer Service Manager - Provides technical support, customer service, and inquiry response services for PlayStream's customers. Investigates and resolves technical problems of PlayStream's customers. The intent of this position to grow into a full time opportunity and train into a senior level technical support role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Technical Support-45%
    • Answers, evaluates, and prioritizes incoming telephone, voice mail, e-mail, and in-person requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with streaming-related technologies.
    • Identify causes of service-related problems with Customer materials.
    • Handles problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution and follow-up for routine user problems, referring more complex problems to supervisors. Provides users with referrals for training.
    • Provides customer guidance and training to customers in the use of encoding software and hardware tools such as Windows Media Encoder, Real Producer, QT Pro, and Media Cleaner.
  • Inquiry Support-45%
    • Serves as first point of contact for Web-based and telephone inquiries for PlayStream.s services, including On-demand, Live Streaming, Encoding, and partner programs.
    • Provides guidance to help them understand the services, technologies and benefits that PlayStream offers and appropriate course of action.
    • Provides guidance and cost estimates for Encoding services, and assists in managing order fulfillment.
    • Leads inquiry response management with respect to PlayStream.s Partner Programs.

    • Collects and communicates customer requirements to development staff. Provides ad-hoc testing and quality assurance of new features as they are deployed.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) or equivalent with technical focus and 1+years of technical customer service experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Broad understanding of client and server side computer technology. Knowledge of Microsoft Operating System software from an end user perspective; Streaming Media related technologies including RealNetworks RealMedia, Microsoft WindowsMedia, and Apple QuickTime. Demonstrate capability in using Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software, Microsoft Word Processing software, PlayStream's proprietary Ordering and Fulfillment Software, as well as specialized programs integrated into PlayStream's operations. Professional experience in networking.
  • Demonstrated success in a technical customer service environment. Knowledge of phone and email support techniques and high attention to detail. Ability to work with end users across all experience levels.
  • Ability to maintain exceptional oral, written communication skills in a dynamic, multiple priority environment.
  • Demonstrated skill in proactive problem solving and creative thinking.
  • Ability to work as part of a flexible team environment.


Live Event Producer - The Live Event Producer will be responsible for coordination, setup, and production of live events. This person will also be responsible for troubleshooting, ongoing maintenance, and implementation of new infrastructure inside the Broadcast Operations Center (BOC). Using effective verbal and written communication skills, the applicant will interface with the Technical Account Management team to gather requirements and provide recommendations for live events. During the events, the applicant will be responsible for broadcast quality, troubleshooting, and real-time communication with Operations and business contacts. After the event, the Live Event Producer will be responsible for post mortem analysis and information gathering. Other duties may include; modifications to BOC infrastructure, proactive maintenance to equipment, evaluation of new products and services, quality of assurance testing, and benchmarking. This position exists in a 24/7 business environment, and will require a flexible work schedule, on-call responsibly, and occasional travel.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years experience with the following: a broadcast operations environment, Microsoft Operating System administration, and experience with video and audio compression

Required Skills

  • Mac OSX, working knowledge of computer networks, operating systems, and computer hardware.
  • Experience with audio/video switchers, mixers, VTRs, broadcast technologies, and satellite uplink/downlink systems and infrastructure.
  • Digital Audio Workstations (DAW), Digital Satellite Receivers. A/V Technician skills desired (maintenance, troubleshooting, and limited repairs).
  • Internet related client software (FTP, HTTP, e-mail). Familiarity with DVI, SDI, AES, ADAT technologies, and Waveform monitor/Vector scopes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business personnel.
  • Demonstrates effective written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under stress associated with live productions and work in a team environment.

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent (minimum). Accredited Broadcast Technical Institute desired. Some college experience desired


Major Account Manager

  • Meeting or exceeding each quarter.s assigned bookings and revenue quotas.
  • Developing "cold call" sales leads and closing prospective business at maximum financial return.
  • Developing and implementing an account plan for each assigned existing account where there is an actual or potential revenue opportunity.
  • Developing and maintaining strong personal and company-to-company relationships with senior management team(s) at each assigned account.
  • Developing and maintaining a detailed personnel and project organization chart for all relevant sites within all assigned accounts, identifying the dependencies and key influences within the organization.
  • Preparing a written monthly report on each assigned account including recent activities, successes, pipeline/forecast status, newly identified revenue opportunities, new and continuing issues, and a rolling 90-day action plan and forecast for the account.
  • Providing continuous and timely feedback relevant to all customer discussions.
  • Assisting in the collection of missing/delinquent royalty reports and in the collection of monies owed.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Education/Experience Required

  • Current relations and proven ability to close deals with C-level executives at top 5 video game development companies.
  • Demonstrated track record closing sales with a transaction value of $250,000-$1,500,000+.
  • At least 8 years experience in a Security Solutions, Interactive Gaming, Publishing, Music or other Personal Entertainment sales role.
  • Exceeding assigned quotas in at least 3 out of every 4 years.
  • Experience selling at a senior management level (Senior Director and/or VP level).
  • Strong customer orientation and dedication.
  • General familiarity with Games, Edutainment, Publishing, Entertainment and/or Corporate Training markets in terms of security needs, issues, and solutions.
  • Experience selling consulting, implementation, and training services.
  • Good communication/presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in verbal and written English, with excellent phone presence and presentation/proposal skills.
  • Multi-tasking ability.
  • Ability to approach problems analytically and methodically.
  • Ability to work in a diverse, sometimes rapidly changing international environment.
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies/skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • A professional degree at the Bachelors or above level.

Education/Experience Desired

  • Knowledge of tools/solutions relevant to Interactive Gaming
  • Experience as a user or a buyer inside of a large enterprise IS department
  • Adequate technical depth to demonstrate strong level of proficiency in a engineering management sales presentation
  • Advanced degree or studies preferred
