Req Interfaces

Command Line Interface

The command line interface is the primary interface that req ships with. It was designed in the spirit of UNIX and the flexibility of the shell. Some of you may find it similar to the mh mail reader. The other interfaces are (or should be) built by using these tools to access the request database.

Manual pages: q, req, reqshow, reqtail, reqglimpse, reqstat, status, req-mailgate, req-nextnum, req-subject

TkReq v8.0

TkReq v8.0 is an updated version of TkReq. This version, written by Eric Melski, addresses a number of issues in the original, most notably making TkReq compatible with Tcl/Tk 8.0. TkReq v8.0 is currently in an active development phase, and is available from the TkReq v8.0 home page.

X Windows Interface (tkReq)

Robert Leslie wrote one of the easiest to use interfaces to the req system. Since it uses tk it provides a nice GUI for the request system. A Screen Shot is available.

It is available from our sysadmin ftp directory as tkreq-1.10.tar.gz.

Emacs Interface

Dave Korman is the author of the emacs-based interface. Req-queue-mode provides a mh-mode-like interface to the request system while inside emacs, the GNUos.

It is available from our sysadmin ftp directory as request-queue-mode-0.81.tar.gz.
